Inside West Vancouver is a personal memoir of municipal politics and public service over 31 years written by Rod Day. Rod, professor emeritus in history at Simon Fraser University, is a senior member and former president of West Vancouver Historical Society, now serving on our Society’s Advisory Group.
The objectives of the book are to:
- raise awareness about WV’s community history generally as part of our Society’s mandate
- raise awareness about our community’s unique municipal political history, with specific reference to the origins and continued influence of community participation through the public advisory system
- raise awareness about WVHS’s publishing program. IWV is the fourth in a series of books on community history published by the
Society, beginning in 2012 with Cottages to Community, which marked the centenary of West Vancouver.
On June 21, 2022 a book launch was held in conjunction with the AGM, with a dinner and social gathering. Over 100 people attended.
We gladly recognize and appreciate the support and contribution from St Christopher's, the Ambleside Tiddlycove Lions Club, Fresh Street Market, the Boatshed / Orchard, and our local funder, the West Vancouver Foundation.
