Strengthening Collaboration for a Sustainable Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound.
The Howe Sound Biosphere Fund’s purpose is to support the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society (HSBRIS) activities in carrying out projects that sustain the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve designation for Átl’ka7tsem / Howe Sound.
HSBRIS champions collaboration in pursuit of three outcomes: sustainable development, biodiversity conservation and reconciliation, and equity and inclusion. In 2021, HSBRIS achieved a significant milestone with the designation of Átl’ka7tsem / Howe Sound as Canada’s19th UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Donations support specific projects, capacity building, and long-term sustainability of the organization and the UNESCO designation.
