Give Where You Live 2025

Local giving. Lasting impact.

Give Where You Live is an exciting giving campaign that empowers you to join others in West Vancouver & the North Shore in supporting a select group of local charities. There are a range of partners selected each year, representing a variety of needs in our community. Donate to 1 or 2, or to them all – your donation will be matched, doubling your impact*!

Double Your Giving - Double the Impact!
Donations are matched by funds at the Foundation, (to a set amount per project) doubling the giving!

Donations made through the West Vancouver Foundation to one of these partners, are matched by funds such as the Ian and Rosemary Mottershead Fund  and Howard Martin Memorial Fund up to a set amount ($7,000-20,000, as indicated) per project.

The West Vancouver Seniors' Activity Centre meal program began as the COVID-19 pandemic brought light to a genuine need amongst the community and it's most vulnerable seniors, many of which lacked the financial means to access regular meals. The Feed the Need program currently serves 3 free meals per week, delivered by volunteers which positively impacts and improves the lives of the roughly 120 meal program participants. 350 meals per week are provided.

Backpack Buddies' mission is to ensure food security for every vulnerable child in British Columbia.

Many children rely heavily on school meal programs but over the weekend may not eat at all until school starts again on Monday. This is ‘the weekend hunger gap.’ Backpack Buddies addresses this crisis by filling backpacks every Friday for students in need with meals and snacks to last the weekend. For a cost of only $25, Backpack Buddies sends a child home with a bag full of kid approved meals to last the weekend and beyond. Donate $250 to fill 10 kids' backpacks with food for a weekend, and your donation will be matched - allowing you to feed 20 children on the North Shore!

Backpack Buddies provides food to kids in 10 North Shore schools/locations including - West Vancouver: Hollyburn, Inglewood, Rockridge, West Vancouver, Sentinel and North Vancouver: Braemar Elementary, Larson Elementary, North Shore Neighborhood House, Queen Mary Elementary, Tsleil-Waututh Nation School.

Fundraising Goal: $20,000

Public donations made through the West Vancouver Community Foundation will be matched, up to $10,000 by the Ian and Rosemary Mottershead Fund.

Red Fox serves two complementary missions via a progressive suite of programs; we promote healthy active living among children and youth and foster employment and life skills for youth who face barriers through our Youth Leadership Continuum (YLC).

The YLC program is for older youth facing barriers, and we provide inclusive job employment skills and experiences, offering them the tools and confidence to take on greater responsibilities in work and in life.

Your support will help Red Fox deliver 121 Active Play sessions right here on the North Shore at Queen Mary, XweMelch’stn Norgate, Ridgeway, and Chartwell Elementary schools.

Fundraising goal: $20,000

Since 1979, North Shore Crisis Services Society (NSCSS) has provided emergency shelter, longer-term housing, and wraparound services to women and children leaving violence. They operate 10 unique programs, including the Safe Housing for Women and Children.

Women and children leaving abuse need a safe place to turn. Leaving is a courageous step, and resources must be in place to ensure that step is safe and sustainable. NSCSS’ supportive housing programs combined with wraparound supports provide that critical safety. Along with a secure and supportive home, families can also find community, access to legal advocacy, child and youth supports, multicultural outreach, and essentials like fresh food, clean clothes, and warm beds (for pets too).

Demand exceeds capacity: for every 2 people we house, 3 more must keep searching due to insufficient space. This past year, 80% of the women we served were single mothers, and at SAGE House, the number of babies and kids under age 4 doubled.

Your support helps keep the lights on and doors open for some of the most vulnerable women and children in our community.

Fundraising Goal: $20,000

Public donations made through the West Vancouver Community Foundation will be matched, up to $10,000 by the Howard Martin Memorial Fund.

We will work towards a future where restorative justice practices, principles and values are used throughout North Shore communities to prevent conflict and heal harms.
