This Fund was established by the organizers of the Dundarave Festival of Lights Society. Their mission is to innovate in the celebration of arts and culture in West Vancouver and across the North Shore “to foster a society in which there are no impediments to full and free participation in the economic, social, political and cultural life” of our community, and “to promote a climate of understanding and mutual respect where all are equal in dignity and rights”.
The Festival is an annual tradition of the arts and culture on the North Shore during the holiday season. From its inception, the Festival’s primary purpose has been to celebrate the beauty of human diversity and inclusion through the performing arts. In addition to the forest of trees, there are four, free community concerts on Saturdays that are inclusive and accessible.
The Fund will be used to support charities working on the North Shore to address homelessness prevention and solutions, including supports for vulnerable youth, families and seniors.
Charities that will be supported this year are Hollyburn Community Services Society and Lookout Housing & Health Society North Shore Shelter. If you have a preference on which of these 2 charities to support, please write it in the ‘Notes to the Foundation’ section on the donation page.
