Darrin Morrison Fund for the Visual Arts

Darrin worked as the Administrator/Curator at the West Vancouver Art Museum from 2005 until 2020. His fifteen-year tenure was marked by innovative exhibitions, publications, and programs that profiled the region’s legacy of important artists, architects, and designers. He also introduced contemporary art programming reflective of the cultural diversity of the community.

Over three decades, Darrin built his career in public museums, working in a broad range of related disciplines, from conservation and design, to curation and administration. He developed numerous exhibitions and publications, working with established and emerging artists, and other arts professionals.

Under his stewardship of the Art Museum, Darrin established a permanent collection of art and photography by many artists who were not previously recognized locally, such as B.C. Binning. In addition, he worked closely with Gordon Smith on numerous local initiatives, and in 2015, the artist donated his personal collection of 75 works to the Art Museum.

The fund will be used to support programs and projects promoting education, creation, and exhibition in the field of visual arts.
